Energy saving and efficiency plan

The environmental commitment of Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar is generally expressed through the Environmental Policy, which sets out the Group's sustainability principles and criteria. Based on this, the environmental management system is defined as the set of instruments and resources available to the organisation which, in an interrelated manner, aim to contribute to the Group's efficiency and sustainability.

The commitment of Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar goes beyond its legal obligations, as it assumes voluntary commitments by implementing an environmental and energy management system, as well as developing environmental principles and good practices in all its actions.

In the case of reducing consumption and increasing energy efficiency, it is worth highlighting the installation of programmable controllers for the centralised control of the installations, the replacement of fluorescent lighting with LED technology and the renovation of the air conditioning equipment in offices that operated with R22 refrigerant gas and off-on control for others with inverter machines that used an ecological gas. With regard to the nature of electrical energy, the Group, in its entirety, uses exclusively energy from renewable sources (green energy). An Energy Management System in accordance with ISO 50001 is also being implemented in order to continue to promote the adaptation of installations and equipment to changes in the regulatory framework and optimise resources to improve energy performance.
